EMDR & Therapy for Kids
In-person & online · New Jersey
When a child is hurting, it rarely comes out in words. It shows up in meltdowns, clinginess, big behaviors, trouble sleeping, or a little one who just doesn't seem like themselves anymore. As a parent, watching it and not knowing how to help is its own kind of heartbreak.
I provide in-person EMDR and trauma therapy for kids in Montclair and Bloomfield, NJ. I'm EMDR-trained and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), two of the most effective, gentle, evidence-based approaches for helping children heal.
Therapy for kids is play-based, paced for them, and always includes you. Parents aren't sent to the waiting room and forgotten; you're part of the team.

Kids process through play and story. Sessions meet them where they are, never forcing words they don't have yet.

Affirming of how they're wired

Questions about emdr & therapy for kids
Still wondering about something? The free consult is the perfect place to ask.
How young is too young for therapy?
I work with children as young as toddlers, using play-based and parent-focused approaches. For very young kids, much of the work happens through you, the parent.
Can EMDR really work for children?
Yes, EMDR is adapted beautifully for kids using stories, drawing, and playful forms of bilateral stimulation. Children often respond even more quickly than adults.
Will I be involved in my child's therapy?
Always. Parent involvement is central to how I work. I'll regularly check in, share strategies, and make sure you feel equipped to support your child at home.
