Evidence-based methods, real human warmth.
There's no one-size-fits-all in therapy. I draw from approaches with strong research behind them and weave them together to fit who you are, your history, your nervous system, your goals. In person at the Bloomfield, NJ office, and online across all of New Jersey.
A toolkit, tailored to you
I rarely use just one approach. Here's what I bring to the table, and a sense of who each one tends to help and what a session can feel like.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
A structured, research-backed therapy that helps your brain reprocess stuck or painful memories so they lose their charge.
Helpful for trauma, PTSD, grief, and the memories that still feel loud years later. You don't have to retell every detail, we work at a pace your nervous system can handle, with both adults and kids.
Feminist & Liberation-Oriented
Names the real systems, sexism, racism, ableism, transphobia, that shape distress, so it's never framed as 'just you.'
A fit if you're tired of being told your struggles are all in your head. We make room for the weight of discrimination, inequity, and the systems you're up against, so you can stop carrying it as personal failure and start seeing it clearly.
Internal Family Systems
Gets to know the different 'parts' of you, the protector, the critic, the wounded one, with curiosity instead of judgment.
Especially freeing if you feel at war with yourself, the part that wants to rest versus the part that won't stop. We get curious about each part instead of trying to silence it.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
An evidence-based model for kids and teens healing from trauma, blending coping skills with gentle processing.
Built for children and teens, with caregivers often involved. Sessions blend coping skills, education, and gentle, age-appropriate processing so big feelings finally have somewhere to go.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Helps you understand the emotions underneath conflict and patterns, so you can build more secure connection with yourself and others.
For folks who keep landing in the same painful loop in their relationships. We slow things down to find the softer emotion underneath the conflict, and build a more secure connection from there.
Compassion-Focused Therapy
Builds a kinder inner voice, especially for folks who are hard on themselves or carry shame.
A fit if your inner critic is relentless or shame runs the show. We practice turning that voice into something kinder, the way you'd speak to someone you love.
What a first session is really like
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. Here's exactly how it goes, so there are no surprises, just a little less uncertainty.
A free 15-minute consult
We start with a no-pressure call. You tell me a little about what's going on, ask me anything, and we both get a feel for whether working together seems right. No commitment, no cost.
Getting to know you
Our first real session isn't a stack of intake forms and rapid-fire questions. It's a conversation. I want to understand your story, what brought you here, and what you're hoping for, at a human pace.
Collaborative, paced work
From there we build a plan together and move at a speed that feels safe to you. You're always in the driver's seat. We can slow down, revisit, or shift approaches any time.
Safety and pacing come first
You will never be pushed to share more than you're ready to, or to dive into the hardest things before we've built the ground to hold them. There's no judgment here and no “right” way to do this. We go at the speed of trust.
We can actually be in the same room
So much of therapy has moved behind a screen. That works well for some, and I offer it. But being together in person is something a video call can't fully replace, and it's a big part of what makes Care Collective different from the many online-only practices nearby. You choose what fits your life.

The therapeutic relationship matters more than any single technique, research says so, and so does experience. That's exactly why the free consult exists: to find out, with zero pressure, whether this feels right. If it doesn't, I'll gladly help point you toward someone who's a better match. You deserve care that actually fits.
You don't have to figure this out alone.
